Infiltration landscape
- Groundwater recharge
- Microclimate improvement
- protection of species
- interesting and recreational garden design
- participatory project
The infiltration landscape was requested by a customer who wanted to sensibly infiltrate his roof runoff water into the garden.
The rainwater is separated from the downspout and directed into the garden. It emerges in a spring basin and flows through a dry stream into the infiltration trough.
Since an additional biotope was to be created, but without the soil compaction measures that would have been necessary for a rammed earth pond, a reused pond pan was recessed into the infiltration swale.
The infiltration landscape percolates 55m³ of rainwater per year, which otherwise would not have recharged the groundwater here. The biotope is already home to various amphibian species after just a few months.
